Mayville State University has set another enrollment record.
Final official enrollment numbers for the spring 2020 semester show a 2.6% increase in total enrollment over the previous spring semester, according to a news release from the university.

Headcount for the spring 2020 semester is 1,151.
The university has hit multiple enrollment records over the past several years, even as other North Dakota University System schools see a dip in student numbers.
“‘The School of Personal Service’ is filling a unique niche for a growing number of students, and we are honored to serve the state of North Dakota in such an important way,” Mayville State President Brian Van Horn said. “We are giving our students outstanding opportunities for successful futures, all at an affordable cost. I am very proud of our faculty and staff who are making a positive difference in the lives of our students.”
Beyond undergraduate enrollment, Mayville State is also seeing growth in other areas.
The school reports seeing “significant growth” in the number of students enrolling in its masters of arts in teaching degree. The 32-credit, online program “provides options for those who have earned bachelor’s degrees and who wish to obtain professional teaching degrees while maintaining employment,” the university said. The program is standards-based to support secondary teacher certification requirements of the North Dakota Education Standards and Practices Board and is designed to support the development of teacher-leaders.
Mayville State’s RN-to-BSN nursing program is also seeing growth. The online program prepares licensed registered nurses for a career in the health care environment.
The RN-to-BSN online curriculum builds on previous nursing education. The coursework is online and “features two plans of study to meet the needs of the working registered nurses,” Mayville State said.
“Graduates of the RN-to-BSN program are prepared for advanced roles in health care that demand critical thinking, decision making, communication, leadership and management skills, and prepared to pursue future graduate studies,” Mayville State said.
“Mayville State University is making an impact on workforce needs in the state of North Dakota and beyond,” said Van Horn. “There is not only a statewide, but also a nationwide need for teaching and nursing professionals, and we are proud to be a part of helping to meet the needs.
