Sanford Mayville selected to Top 100 Critical Access Hospital list a 3rd time

MAYVILLE, N.D. — Sanford Mayville Medical Center was recognized as a member of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals list for 2024 by the Chartis Center for Rural Health for the third year in a row, according to a press release.

The list recognizes “outstanding performance among the nation’s rural hospitals,” the release said, based on the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX, an assessment of rural hospital performance.

“During an era of profound uncertainty for rural health care, the top 100 rural hospitals continue to provide a unique lens through which we can identify innovation and inspiration for how to deliver high-quality care to increasingly vulnerable populations,” Michael Topchik, the national leader for the Chartis Center for Rural Health, said in a statement.

Jac McTaggart, the senior director for Sanford Mayville Medical Center, said being placed in the list for the third consecutive year gives him pride.

“Each year, we strengthen our position as a beacon of excellent health care, solidifying our role as a vital asset to our rural communities,” he said.

“This consistent recognition highlights our ongoing commitment to deliver world-class health care, and we remain committed to excellence for the well-being of those we are privileged to care for.”
