Goose River Heritage Center Museum | Mayville - Portland, North Dakota

The Great Northern Railway Depot (now the Goose River Heritage Center) was built in 1897 and now houses a collection that includes a barber shop, school room, pioneer clothing, pioneer kitchen, military collections, pioneer machinery and much more.

The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.[1]

A predecessor building was burned in a fire. This building, as a new depot, was built in style “noticeably superior to the type of facility usually provided a community the size of Mayville.”[2]
