Dear Resident/Property Owner:

The Council for the City of Mayville has scheduled a Public Input Meeting for the purpose of collecting public comment on proposed citywide improvements. The City has recently completed a study to evaluate the conditions of the sanitary sewer, water main, storm sewer, drainage, and streets systems throughout Mayville. This study identified proposed improvements and projects to correct deficiencies in these systems. The Council has acknowledged the need for these improvements, but prior to making any decisions, they are requesting the public’s input on the proposed improvements and projects.

The Public Input Meeting will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday February 23, 2021 at the Mayville Armory (332 Center Avenue South), will last approximately 1.5 hours, and will include discussion on:

  • Citywide Street and Utility Study Need and Scope
  • Study Findings
  • Proposed Improvements
  • Proposed Projects Costs and Financing
  • Proposed Projects Schedule

The proposed improvements would be constructed via multiple projects to utilize optimum funding packages available to the City. The proposed projects would be paid for by a combination of rate increases and special assessments to benefitting properties based on front footage of property. The special assessments would be reflected on your property’s tax statement. 

Attached is a Comment Card for you to provide your feedback and thoughts on the City’s proposed plans. The Comment Card can be filled out and dropped off after the Public Input Meeting on February 23, dropped off or mailed to the Auditor’s Office (21 1st Street NE, Mayville, ND 58257), or completed online at mayvilleportland.com/mayvillestreetproject/. Please educate yourself before filling out the Comment Card by either attending the Public Input Meeting or watching the video of the recorded meeting. The Council asks you to please submit any and all comments by March 5, 2021. A link to the Comment Card as well as a video of the recorded Public Input Meeting will be posted on this website when available.

Dear Resident/Property Owner:

The Council for the City of Mayville had a Public Input Meeting for the purpose of gauging public interest in a possible citywide street improvement project. The Council acknowledged the need for street improvements and have started preliminary discussions for improvements. Prior to making any decisions, the Council is requesting the public’s input on the desire for any future improvements.

The Public Input Meeting was held on January 31, 2019 at the Mayville Armory (332 Center Avenue South), will lasted approximately 1.5 hours, and will include discussion on:

  • Asphalt Pavement
  • Potential Improvements/Maintenance
  • Conceptual Costs
  • Potential Project Schedule

The potential project is anticipated to be paid by special assessments to benefitting properties based on front footage of property. These special assessments would be reflected on your property’s tax statement. The actual scope and cost of the potential project would be determined based on the findings from an Engineering Study. The Council will proceed with the Engineering Study if it appears the public wants to pursue improvements to the streets. Additional public meetings would be held during the Study Phase to further discuss possible project scope and cost.

Please educate yourself before filling out the Questionnaire by either attending the Public Input Meeting or watching the video of the recorded meeting. The Council asks you to please submit the Questionnaire by February 15, 2019. A video of the recorded Public Input Meeting is posted below. The Questionnaire can be  completed online at this link.  You have until February 15, 2019 to have all of the surveys in/completed.
